About
Calm guidance for the animals in your care.
Burrow is an evidence-led health and care resource for the animals people keep as pets — dogs and cats primarily, and small animals (rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, and similar) as well. Most pet health content online is either fear-mongering clickbait or thin, generic filler written for search engines rather than owners. Burrow exists to be genuinely useful instead: specific, calm, evidence-checked.
What we are
Calm first.
We write for the owner who opens their phone at midnight worried about a symptom. That moment needs steadiness, not adrenaline. Every guide is written to lower the temperature.
Evidence-checked.
We trace claims back to sources. Where research is thin, we say so. Where we are offering an informed opinion, we say that too.
Specific, not vague.
We don't do listicles padded with obvious advice. That goes double for small-animal owners, who are especially poorly served by generic pet content. A guide on checking a rabbit's incisors, or your dog's gum colour, tells you exactly what to look for and when to call the vet.
What we aren't
We don't panic you.
No fear-driven headlines. No paragraphs designed to keep you scrolling through ads. If something is genuinely urgent, we say so plainly — and tell you what to do next.
We don't sell disguised as advice.
Guides are researched and written carefully, not sponsored placements. No affiliate links inside them, no supplement brands slipped into copy. If we ever recommend a product, we'll tell you exactly why.
We don't pretend to be vets.
Our guides are educational, not diagnostic. Your Companion is a thinking tool, not a vet in your pocket. Every guide includes a plain 'see a vet' line where something is beyond what a guide can safely cover.
How it's made
Written carefully, checked honestly.
Every guide starts with a real question from a real owner. We research the veterinary and clinical literature, then write in plain language — short sentences, no jargon, no padding.
Where the evidence is mixed or still emerging, we say that too. We don't pretend certainty where it doesn't exist.
Each piece ends with a clear bottom line and guidance on when to seek professional help. The goal isn't to replace your vet — it's to help you have a better conversation with them.

Why this matters.
I started Burrow because I was tired of pet health content that treated owners like anxious wallets. The internet is full of articles that begin with a terrifying headline and end with a product link. That isn't care — it's marketing.
Burrow is for the owner who wants to know what's actually going on with their animal — not to be sold something, and not to be frightened into a vet visit they didn't need. Our guides are researched and written carefully, never sponsored placements, and they'll always tell you when something is beyond what a guide can safely cover.
